Do you have a fishing enthusiast in your life that you struggle to find gifts for? You’re not alone. People who are into fishing, either as a hobby or even more serious, are very picky about their gear. Because of this, it is strongly advised that you do not attempt to buy them something specialized. Rather, gifts that are practical and almost universally-needed almost always are a hit. Here are three examples of gifts that nearly every angler will greatly appreciate and love to use.
An Airplane Ticket
Our guests travel from all over the country to fish in the Bighorn River. Purchasing a flight ticket for your loved one to fly to Montana will go a long way in reducing their total trip expenses. An airline ticket is a pretty large expense on any vacation, and perhaps the savings can go towards more souvenirs! Helping them get to our resort will not go unappreciated.
Fish Ruler
If the fisherman in your life is newer to the hobby, an adhesive fish ruler is a great practical gift. These come in handy primarily for helping to ensure any catches they wish to keep are within state fish and game regulations (violating these laws can carry some pretty nasty fines, so this gift could save them from that!). However, your angler could also use it describe exactly how big the fish was when telling their stories.
Underwater Camera
Speaking of fish stories, unless you have evidence to document your catch, they’re simply that: stories. A waterproof camera, such as a GoPro or other brand of action camera, makes a great gift. This allows your angler to capture footage of their trophy as they reel it in, and then document it once it comes out of water. You may pay a little more for a better model, but there’s no question your favorite fisherman will appreciate being able to back up their stories with high-definition video.
