Another great week of fishing on the Bighorn! River flows have decreased from 7000 to 6000 CFS over the past week. Water temps are increasing to the low 50's and the river remains very clear throughout the first 13 miles and fairly clear below that but there is a chance of off colored water and more floating moss.
Currently we are between insect hatches. The baetis are pretty much over and the PMD's and caddis should start appearing any day now. Nymphing with sow bugs and scuds has been red hot the past few days and should remain good for the near future. Streamers have also been moving fish on overcast days. For nymphing try shortening your rig to 6 feet and work the faster water and seams for the most active fish.
Weather this week will be in the 80's and 90's with a regular chance of afternoon storms. Another great week on the Bighorn! Have fun and see you on the river!
